In 2017, Jon Bunning premiered his film THE TABLES at the acclaimed Ashland Independent Film Festival where it won the audience award for Best Short Documentary. It went on to win over a dozen awards for best documentary and screened at several prestigious festivals including DOC NYC, Nashville Film Festival, and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Oscar® qualifying Florida Film Festival.
Over the past few years Jon has directed films for Google, Samsung and Uber Eats. In addition to filmmaking Jon is a Creative Director / Art Director who has had the privilege of freelancing with some of the top creative agencies in the country including Arnold, B-Reel, Co:Collective, Google, Havas, Huge, Fig, Joan, Johannes Leonardo, KBS, Martin Agency, McCann, mcgarrybowen, Media Arts Lab, Mother, Ogilvy, Preacher, Publicis, Saatchi & Saatchi, Sid Lee and 360i.
Previously, Jon was an Associate Creative Director at Berlin Cameron where he worked on some of the world’s most famous brands such as Coca-Cola, Heineken, Ford, and The Wall Street Journal. He began his career with his dream job as an Art Director at Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami producing exciting work for MINI, IKEA, Virgin Atlantic and Giro.
Growing up in Omaha running cross country and track, Jon was inspired by the Nike commercial INSTANT KARMA to pursue a path in advertising. After finishing college at the University of Nebraska and a summer internship at Bozell, he attended VCU Adcenter where he had a transformative experience as a graduate assistant for Jelly Helm.
Jon lives in Brooklyn, NY with his badass wife Laura Stroup and their pup Raleigh.
